Delta Air Lines announced Friday the carrier will launch new seasonal Saturday service between New York's LaGuardia Airport and Key West, Florida.
The seasonal flights will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Republic Airline from March 9, 2019, through August 31, 2019. The routes will be flown with Embraer E-170 aircraft with nine seats in First Class, 12 in Delta Comfort+ and 48 in the Main Cabin.
The new seasonal service will expand Delta’s offerings to destinations in Florida and the Caribbean. The carrier also flies daily between Key West and Atlanta year-round.
“With winter just around the corner, it's a great time to start thinking about warm weather respites, and this new service to the southernmost city in the continental U.S. will offer our customers an opportunity to explore this popular Florida destination,” Delta vice president Chuck Imhof said in a statement.
The announcement of Delta's new Key West service comes after the airline began offering product enhancements on flights to destinations across Florida, including an increased number of seats and seatback entertainment.
The Key West flight also joins new winter service to the Caribbean from New York-JFK to Kingston, Port-Au-Prince, and Antigua, along with a second daily flight to Nassau. Saturday service between JFK and St. Maarten will increase to a daily frequency next month.
