PLANTATION
Sir Richard Branson has unveiled the face of his upcoming cruise line, and her name is Scarlet Lady.
The same face that fronts Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Australia, and Virgin Galactic vessels will grace the hull of Virgin Voyages. However, for the ocean liner, she’s been given a mermaid tail, and her hair let loose in a cascade of red waves.
The first of the Virgin Voyages fleet, which has already been christened Scarlet Lady, is expected to lift anchor in 2020 as an adults-only cruise ship.
Branson had previously announced that the first of his three ships would be restricted to sailors 18 years and older, with the aim of creating a more premium, elevated sailing experience.
Scarlet Lady will be anchored in her home port of Miami and sail the Caribbean. The ship is being built to accommodate 2,700 guests and 1,150 crew members.
