For travelers obsessed with the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, luxury cruise line Cunard announced exclusive celebrations onboard Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth on May 19.
On the cruise line’s ships, passengers will be offered special parties and royal celebrations, including a screening of the Royal Wedding, an afternoon tea party, themed cocktails, a commemorative dinner, and keepsake menus, a wedding cake modeled after the bride and groom's and champagne at dinner.
Passengers on the Queen Mary 2 will be part of the ship’s signature transatlantic crossing from New York to Southampton, and the vessel will be sailing toward the United Kingdom during the wedding ceremony.
“We are excited to celebrate the royal wedding with our guests on board all three Cunard ships,” Cunard North America senior vice president Josh Leibowitz said in a statement. “We are thrilled to honor this special moment in time, and to commemorate Cunard's longstanding special relationship with the Royal Family.”
As for those on the Queen Elizabeth, they will be in St. Petersburg, Russia during the celebration. Travelers who will be sailing on the Queen Victoria will be in Portree, Scotland, when Prince Harry and Markle finally tie the knot.
Cunard has a long history with the royal family, as Queen Elizabeth II attended her first event hosted by the cruise line in 1938 when she was only 12 years old. In the years since, the Queen has launched and named four Cunard ships.
